This transaction is used to add funds to the trust account to cover NSF or Returned Debtor Payments. This transaction is rarely used or needed. Typically only accounts whose clients have Type 2 or Commercial Accounting will need this feature. Using debtor payment release dates helps eliminate the need for this transaction.
Note: To post this transaction you must know the transaction id number for the RTNCK transaction. To find that, go to the history screen, find the RTNCK transaction and get the T# number for transaction. Be careful the RTNCK transaction entry also contains the T# for the original PMT transaction.
Select RTNCKR
from the Enter Transaction Code selection and click the button:
to display a transaction confirmation screen:
If you are
sure you want to continue with the transaction, click the button.
This will open the RTNCKR screen:
Enter the
transaction date of the RTNCKR
transaction in the field. Today's
date will default in field.
Enter the transaction number for the returned check transaction. (RTNCK)
Select to reimburse the Trust Account from the Client payment or from the Firm
Account by
clicking the button.
The return check transaction history entry will display at the bottom of the screen.
From that enter the amount of monies you would like to reimburse the to the Trust Account. And the check number used to deposit into the Trust Account.
Click the
button.
This will take you to the Apply to Section.
Enter the amount of money you would like to apply to each section. Remember this amount can not exceed the original amount you entered earlier.
The current section will display what amounts are currently in a negative state.
Click the button to save the RTNCKR
transaction.
