Enter the following to add a new Court and/or Payee to CollectMax:
Code: Select and enter a Code to represent the Court or Payee. The required court/payee codes can be up to 6 characters long and contain both alphabetic and numeric characters but no special characters such as spaces, commas or slashes.
Payee Type: Select the type of payee this code represents. Click the button and select Court, Process Server, Sheriff or Other from the list.
The payee type is used in other sections of CollectMax. It is important to set the proper Payee Type for all codes. For Example: All Court/Payee Codes with a payee type of Court will be listed in the available courts in the litigation section of CollectMax.
If you select a payee other than court, some fields will not be available because they are no longer applicable.
1099 Payee: If this payee qualifies for end of the year 1099 tax documents, check the 1099 Payee box. Once the payee is set as a 1099 payee, any checks written to this payee will be included in the Check History Report for 1099 Payees.
Court Type: If the payee is a court, click the button to select a type from the list. If the type you need is not available, see Court Type for information on adding a new code. Court Type can be used to designate a court as a Civil, Criminal or District Court and may be a required field for interface accounts. If unsure if this field is required, please contact your forwarder.
Court Designation: Enter a Court Designation. A Court Designation can be used to set the courts district such as the Eighteenth District. This field may be required for interface accounts. If unsure if this field is required, please contact your forwarder.
Payee: Enter the Name that should be printed on the Pay To the Order Of line of a check. The Payee Field is a required to add a Court/Payee Code.
Demographics: Enter the following information about your Court/Payee:
Group: Allows you to group checks with a like Payee, Client or Debtor Key (unique internal number for each debtor).

Note/Remarks: Enter any notes about this payee that you would like to maintain in CollectMax.
Auto Court: If this payee is a court, set the proper Auto Court Settings. See Auto Court.
Court Representatives: Allows you to attach representatives to each court. See Court Representatives. *This is a Version 8 Feature.
Once complete, click the button to add this code to the available Court/Payees.
